Suitability & usage

Can I use on puppies?
All of our products are suitable for dogs more than 12 weeks old. For regular washing and grooming, given a puppy's extra-sensitive skin, we don't recommend frequent washing with water until 4 months. Our DRY SHAMPOO POWDER SHOWER, 'No Rinse Charming' is great for puppies though. Just sprinkle a little onto their fur, avoiding the face, and gently rub through. or brush out lightly. The powder will take away dirt naturally and add-in a wonder-fur aroma of our safe-for-dogs essential oils. A great way to spruce up a 'mucky pup' without the need for water.
Sensitive dog fur and skin
Some dogs, just like humans, have extra-sensitive skin needs. Coming from the beauty industry, our founders completely understand this. The short answer is: test a little of our product on your dog before using on broader parts of their skin/fur. Our products have been designed to be gentle and mild, but effective. If you do notice a sore, itching or reddish skin reaction then stop using the product and contact a Vet, as this may be an allergic reaction to food, or even a response to a bite, tick or other skin issue. Always take care when using products on your dog and be attentive to their reactions.
How Do I Use It?
Every product available on the website has a 'how-l to use' section - look for the second tab under the product photos (between 'details' and 'benefits'). Also there are similar instructions on each pack. For more tips on washing your dog and taking care of their skin, head to our 'advice' section (drop-down from the top menu bar on the far right) and there's several blogs there, some written by experts in the field, with handy hints

Where is it made?
We are made in the UK and our products proudly carry a (slightly differently coloured) Union Flag. Some ingredients or materials are imported. For example, our natural bamboo towel glove is made with Tamboocel - a sustainable spun bamboo material from SE Asia - because they grow much better bamboo there than here in East Anglia (we did try...) Our essential oil blend is made from extremely high-quality and hard-to-find ingredients that are often grown in tropical, high-altitude locations for purity and picked at specific times of the year. This is also tricky to find in sunny Britain, and so we bring these aromatic elements into the UK and then combine with our specialists in making shampoos, balms, powders and wipes. We were delighted to find friends in the South West of England who could hand-bake our Paw-Kit treats to our recipe and also make the dry Cake Mix that goes into the Home Barking Kit. We love them.
Recycling and reusing
GREAT QUESTION. We've got a blog about this for more details head there in the main menu, but here's the main points: we use aluminium in a lot of our packaging which is highly recoverable in all local authority recycling. It can also be cleaned and re-used. Our paper/card products are also made with high recycled content and are easy to remove from other materials for recycling or composting. We use cellulose not plastic wrap on our SCENT SOMETHIN' NICE, our scented bookmarks. Our tissue paper is biodegradable. Our wipes are biodegradable in 6 weeks.
Can I use on my breed/hair type?
Our products are suitable for all dog breed types. We have designed our formulas to be easy for you to use on your dog at-home or on-the-go as a way of keeping them clean and healthy between visits to professional groomers. There are some situations listed below where you may need more help (matting fur and serious soiling) All colours of fur respond well to our grooming products and owners of multi-coloured dogs may notice that dark fur looks richer and sleeker, with lighter fur looking brighter and fresher. Your dog will need his/her nails clipped, teeth checked and a general inspection of their skin and fur by trained professionals approximately twice per year - not every dog is the same, so some may need more frequent visits and others, much less. A professional groom once or twice a year is a great treat for your furry friend!
Matting fur
If your dog's hair is prone to matting, they are likely to need professional grooming with clippers and a wash at the same time. Between clipping visits, our products are recommended. Note that when drying a dog prone to mats, rubbing vigorously with heavy cotton towels can make matters worse. Instead, using a 'patting' type drying method and a super-absorbent material, like our bamboo glove towel, GLOVE MY DOG onsale here for £24.

Where else can I buy?
Right now we are on-sale in an ever-increasing number of independent stores around the country, as well as some well-known premium grocery and online retail outlets. There's a list of current stockist available by clicking the button in the menu. We are also the preferred 'grooming' brand of Paleo Ridge raw food and so if you're buying your supplies there (which we HIGHLY recommend!), you may like to add your 'Sniffe' to those baskets. Speaking of other places you might be shopping, we're also available on Ocado (just our furcare and skincare range) so that can be handy too!
How can I get assistance if I need it?
Best way is to email us at where a real person will read it and get back to you straight away. We know that buying online can be a bit tricky sometimes and we're here to help. We can answer any query about the products, what to buy for certain types of dog, how to use, pack sizes, number of uses, what's in it, where else you can buy, how we ship, how long it takes to deliver. Plus we love talking to dog owners!
What happens after I complete my bark-et?
We get busy in the Doghouse picking your order, wrapping it up carefully and then getting it ready for collection by a courier or Royal Mail. The Doghouse gets a visit from them every working day in the middle of the afternoon. You'll receive a few automated email messages from us confirming things like what you've ordered and where we're sending it. This is part of the secure process to make sure we get the right items to the right people as soon as possible (...we've not messed it up yet in the last 2 years!). It also gives you the chance to realise 'oh crikey I put the wrong address in...' or 'blast I thought I put the paw balm in there as well...' (we've all been there...). So if you notice an error, give us an email straight away on and we may be able to make an adjustment for you before dispatch. Sorry that it's more email in your inbox but it does provide a fallback in case of an error and is designed to give you confidence that your order is on the way. If your order is coming in via courier, you'll also get tracking information so you can communicate directly with the courier company to do things like leave instructions ('leave with Mr Smith next door' etc.) or arrange a new time to deliver.
I got a message about completing payment
Not to worry. We (like almost everyone online) use secure third-party payment processing facilities for things like Visa and Mastercard transactions. [We're not out the back with one of those vintage manual credit card imprinters with the annoying bits of carbon copy paper that get everyone's hands dirty. Remember those? We do!] Occasionally, those payment providers tell us that your card has been declined. This can be for any number of reasons, such as being out of date, or for security, or a randomised check. To be secure, of course (which is why we pay them...) they don't tell us why so we can't pass that back to you. If this happens, part of our automated process notifies you and the email contains instructions on what to do next. Really sorry, we hope you understand that we can't/won't get into dialogue about payments online as it is not secure for you or for us, what with all these fraudsters about.... Grrrr.
